  The Marvels 2023

  A movie that supersedes its predecessor. Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) is the best part of the movie, bringing a lot of heart and humor. Brie Larson is more comfortable in her role but still feels stiff. 

  The third act takes a weird turn that I found hilarious but I know is not for everyone. The movie suffers from similar third act issues that plague most Marvel movies (over reliance on CGI, forced tie ins to other Marvel properties, etc) but I won’t doc points for that. 

  Overall the movie is fun, full of heart and has enough humor to satisfy people.

  Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour 2023

  ★★★★ Watched 13 Oct 2023

  A ridiculously fun experience. Swift is an incredible performer and knows how to put on a great show. My favorite song got the short end of the stick but it didn’t affect my rating. All Too Well really does stand out, along with the Reputation era chapter of the concert.

  Incoherent. This movie felt like two different movies at once. Nothing is established early which leads to confusion for the audience. Even with all the confusion, the ending is telegraphed from about 1/3 of the way through. Chace Crawford has charisma that is wasted.
