i think there's a lot to compare here with ride in the whirlwind, another monte hellman movie that moves at a very slow pace but leaves a lot to unpack. the reason this film works for me so much more is the way hellman's slow pace compliments the script, a really point-in-time style where the entire movie flows off of character moments and dynamics, similar to ride in the whirlwind, although ride in the whirlwind does a less effective (although…
