Watched this on a flight from London to Toronto. I don't understand the critical acclaim. Maybe it's because it's such an American story, that I just couldn't relate to it, especially as a first-generation Asian immigrant in Canada. I'm non-religious, so I could relate to the ~silliness~ of religion, but otherwise, I just felt the mother was super annoying. Great performances though.
