Somewhat interesting? If it had a stronger ending to wrap up the tonal shift of the second half this could’ve thematically worked a lot better. Oh what point are you making between the dichotomy of the bourgeois and the poor who work hard and don’t succeed? I don’t really know. The attempt at satire is too vague and that ending is so so stupid. He gets shot at the end because how else are we supposed to end this, it’s dramatic I guess.
I was so hyped to watch a 80’s gay Daniel Day Lewis, but this was pretty bad! I guess I was expecting some social realist drama, but this is just a bad TV movie where everyone has one character trait to exaggerate and then talk in expository dialogue about everything instead of living it.
