It wasn't bad. Nothing to write home about (pun only somewhat intended); it's a dumb action film but hey, sometimes that's what you want!
This film legitimately could have won Best Picture, if animation wasn't its own category.
Everything about it was absolutely perfect. The different animation styles, the care taken in animating different characters and scenes depending on the context, the voice acting, the story.. everything.
I like that the film played with the theme of expectations, and it served well as a fresh take on a franchise which has already been adapted so many times. Simply, I just loved every minute.
What can I say about this masterpiece that hasn't already been said?
When I came out of the cinema, I literally (and I mean *literally*) said to the person I was with "Michelle Yeoh will win an Oscar for this."
Brilliant performances from everybody. And with so much going on, somehow they managed to pull it off cohesively.
You laugh, you cry, you feel a whole range of emotions. The movie really packs a punch.
