    Mean Girls

hey guys, once again i am asking for help with a uni project (sorry lol)

does anyone know of any recent U.S. girl teen films (2010 onwards) that have black women in the lead role? I can’t think of any except Girlhood (which wouldn’t even fit my project anyway as it’s not an American film) but please let me know if there’s something I’ve missed! if not then at least it opens up space for me to talk about lack of diversity within the girl teen film narrative :)

    Friday the 13th

hello my beautiful letterboxd followers, I’m doing a project for uni on “lovers threatened” in horror films and wondered if anyone has any recommendations for films that would fit? basically just any films that focus to some extent on a couple/couples who are attacked by external forces. i’m trying to branch out beyond just US cinema as well so if you have any international film recommendations that fit the topic then that would be even better!!!

i love how the negative reviews of this film are like “it’s just olivia wilde beating up abusive men for 90 mins” as if that’s not the exact same reason i’m giving it 4 stars... we simply LOVE to see it!
