Robert Fisk’s review published on Letterboxd:
This film works best as a high school set coming of age film that happens to revolve around a superhero. The performances feel natural, the pacing is great, the blend of comedy and drama is consistent with other contemporary coming of age films, and Holland is wonderful as both Parker and Spider-Man. Unfortunately, the authenticity that permeates most of the film is largely missing from the action sequences. Also, while Michael Keaton is fantastic and Vulture looks awesome, the early scenes involving his character (excluding the opening scene) feel cheesy and tonally inconsistent with the rest of the film. Still, it is great fun and I am definitely excited for Far From Home! The flaws are relatively minor and have little impact on the overall viewing experience.
