A movie about the multiverse is a multiverse of a movie. Part blockbuster superhero adventure, part shit-stirring horror flick, and loaded with delights guaranteed to pleasure fans of both Marvel Comics and the films of Sam Raimi, this is a phantasmagorical spook-a-blast on a massive scale and pure entertainment with moments of earned poignancy. Pizza Poppa didn't deserve such harsh treatment though. Have the hands of Bruce not suffered enough?

I wanted to like this movie so much, but in the end it was merely fine. Bay tends to overcook the shit outta the simplest concept. It's like hiring Guy Fieri to make you soup and a sandwich, except the sandwich is loaded with pork rinds and shredded Playboy mags and the soup is served in a bowl made of fire-roasted cocaine. The action was pretty juicy though; I'll bet Bay used drones to get those really cool shots.

The original. The best. One of John Carpenter's finest hours behind the camera. A lean, mean, cool, and sardonically amusing action masterpiece. The powerhouse cast is toplined by instantly legendary performances from Austin Stoker, Darwin Joston, Laurie Zimmer, amd Tony Burton. Simply flawless. Accept no substitutes.
