People think this is hokey or silly now days, but at the time it was a big deal . It was the most realistic portrayal of Batman we had up until that point. Before that we had the campy Adam West series. Also, Michael Keaton, a very talented actor, was able to make you forget he is a slender and somewhat short man. For two hours you bought him as Batman. The taller and more muscular Val Kilmer couldn't get that across. Plus, you've got Jack Nicholson playing it up, apparently having a ball with the character. This is a classic!
