Hooptober 2017, movie #12:
Effects: 6/10. Music: 9/10. Style: 11/10.
It's not the most creative story, and from the outset we know it's going to be Faustian. But good golly, everything about this movie is a treat for the ears and eyes. Maybe there's even a message about the cutthroat nature of the music biz and the ignorant single-mindedness of celebrities and their hangers-on, but mostly it's just a fun trip.
