“I'd have to be pretty stupid to write a book about killing and then kill him the way I described in my book. I'd be announcing myself as the killer. I'm not stupid.”

Great. Verhoeven keeps you guessing from the first scene right until the last few minutes. He plays with these noir tropes but with a 90s aesthetic and it works brilliantly. Douglas and Stone are both great and really great chemistry.

“You break the rules and become a hero. I do it and I become the enemy. That doesn't seem fair.”

This film was a blast. It grinds to halt on one or two occasions but Raimi’s trademark camera keeps things going. Cumberbatch is great but this isn’t really a Doctor Strange film, it’s a sequel to Wandavision, so good luck to anyone who didn’t watch that. Elizabeth Olsen really is great and it’s fascinating to see how her character has…

“The voices in your head... there's chaos in you. Embrace the chaos.”

Had bit of a blip in the middle but, for the most part, I really liked. Oscar Isaac’s multiple performances are great and that could have come across as silly but it was handled really well. Would very much be up for more Moon Knight and especially interested where they take Layla’s character.

R-E-S - C-U-E, Rescue Aid Society. Heads held high, touch the sky. Our hearts we pledge to thee

A lot darker than I remember Bernard and Bianca are cute and I love the whole Rescue Aid Society aspect. Medusa may well be a Cruella rip-off but she’s still going to give children nightmares. The animation does let it down though. The backgrounds are so still and lifeless.

It’s pretty fun and better than Uncharted. It does feel edited and ADR’d into within a inch of its life but it still gets by. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum but I didn’t feel like they had that much chemistry and neither were that funny apart from the odd moment. Daniel Radcliffe is fun but not in nearly enough or as crazy as he could have been.

“Your fate is sealed and you cannot escape it!”

I was into this right from the off. Some stunning direction from Eggers coupled with an intense central performance from Skarsgård. Some gorgeous long takes here as well. There’s one in particular towards the start of the film that really sets the tone for the film when Skarsgård appears drenched in blood. There’s plenty of weird Viking stuff that goes and Eggers revels in that just as much of the violence. Anyway it’s stunning and go see it’s on the big screen.

“She was thinking about how, at the age of 30, she'd just compared herself to Bambi.”

The big takeaway for me is how phenomenal Renate Reinsve. From the very first arresting moment on screen to its closing moments, she is phenomenal. It’s her journey and her coming to terms with 30 and what that brings. Sure, I can see the complaint about how Weber seen this before but The Worst Person In The World is a great version of that so it doesn’t matter.

Utterly charming and wonderful. Really liked each story and love the design of the film with the book and how they work that in to the film.

“I went from dying... to feeling more alive than ever.”

Look, it’s maybe not quite as bad as I was lead to believe but it’s still pretty bad. The film has clearly been chopped to pieces and it’s no more evident in the action scenes. They are so choppy and blurry that you cannot tell what is happening at all. Jared Leto and Matt Smith are both…fine. They’re meant to be two sides of the same coin kind of thing…

Does your wife know you rob banks?

Struggling with whether I hated or loved this for a bit. It’s wild and disorienting and over the top in ways only Michael Bay can do. So many extravagant shots that’s last maybe 2/3 seconds but in the end, I came down on the positive side of this one. Hype gal is unhinged, fitting Bay’s direction, and Mateen II is more a straight man here. Eiza González is great as well and pulls…
