MCU RE-WATCH: Part 12

Well, dying is certainly better than having to live an entire life as a moronic shitbag who thinks tazer face is a cool name. - Rocket, Best Line in the movie

So Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 gets a hard time mostly because it doesn't live up to original, and it doesn't, but it is still a damn hilarious, beautifully shot, and (mostly) brilliantly scripted story where each Guardian gets major character development.

They character developments in this are awesome. Peter having to realise that he already had a family and a father, Gamora struggling with her relationship with her sister and dealing with past traumas, and without a doubt the best characters in Vol. 2 are Yondu and Rocket and their sort of parallel character arc which is acting like a tough shit and being an asshole becuase they have both been hurt in the past. I'm so glad at how much they actually decided to focus on the two of them, which A) Makes Yondu's death much more emotional and warranted and B) Makes Rocket an already fleshed out character for Endgame which he will be in.

The biggest problem I have with it is its comedy. I'd say it works about 60/40 or maybe 70/30 because a lot of the jokes just don't work, such as Drax's sensitive nibbles and lines like "I have famously huge turds" and "Lets wait until we survive this massive space battle".

Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 2 is good, just not great and definitely a worthy addition to the MCU storyline.
