  • Monty Python's The Meaning of Life

Monty Python's The Meaning of Life

Watched this a few days ago but forgot to review it until now. I can’t believe it took me this long to watch it considering how much Monty Pythontent (Python content) I consume on a yearly basis. Definitely a longer joke pacing than their other films, probably because it’s later in their career. What a way to end Monty Python. And the music!!! So catchy.

  • The Muppet Christmas Carol

    The Muppet Christmas Carol

Michael Caine gave an insanely good performance for a MUPPET movie. This one was directed by Jim Henson’s son so the charisma is really still there. Nice and cute watch!

  • What We Do in the Shadows

What We Do in the Shadows

when your circle small but y'all crazy

Very funny and rewatchable. Taiki Waititi is hit or miss for me. He's clearly funny and talented but he gives me Lin Manuel Miranda vibes off the charts sometimes. This wasn't one of those times though; I really enjoyed this movie! The Flight of the Conchords guy and the other guy (I'm so good at names) were the best parts.

  • Life of Brian

    Life of Brian

    “Crucifixion?” “Yes.” “Good.”

Haven’t seen this one in easily 15 years so it was good to catch up with it. Plenty of uncomfy wouldn’t-hold-up-today (and shouldn’t have held up back then) moments but that’s par for the Monty Python course. Still, I have fun watching and rewatching and rewatching everything they put out and this one’s no exception. And “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” plays on a loop in the background of all of my thoughts forever.

watching any Wallace and Gromit movie is like falling asleep under a blanket near a crackling fire

  • Beavis and Butt-Head Do America

    Beavis and Butt-Head Do America

Holds up 1) on second watch 2) 24 years after its release. Great for both "I'm just gonna put this on in the background and not worry if I miss parts because it's easy to follow" and "I'm gonna sit here and watch this because there are so many funny, quotable lines." Certified crazy azz white boy feature film...

  • Ocean's Eleven

    Ocean's Eleven

a few years ago i tried to watch this and i fell asleep halfway through. two nights ago i tried again and fell asleep halfway through again. last night i watched the second half and really enjoyed it. i would give it a 5 but it takes a while to get to the good stuff and the end is a little hokey. worth it, though, to see cesar romero’s “i’m doin ur friend’s mom” finger snap/hand jive moment. it’s da…
