    One hell of a ride, and just thinking about how this was written and shot turns my brain into a pretzel. Go into it as cold as you can. Skip the trailer and just hit play, you won't regret it.

    This is one of the better non-Godzilla Toho films. The movie wastes no time in rolling out the rubber suits: by the 20 minute mark you've already seen Mechanikong, Gorosaurus, and the royal gorilla himself in action. The big guy still has a weakness for blondes.

    Kaiju Collector Fun Fact: Toho recently came to the realization that they don't own the Mechanikong character and are no longer granting licenses for toys/models/etc. Whether or not they're correct about this, any recent licensed Mechanikong products are likely the last.

    I'm giving this four stars for what it is: a delicious block of Velveeta. It's entertainingly bad right down to the title. I'm only docking it one star for the poor piglet that was dressed up like a baby Stegosaurus and dragged through the dirt.

    I remember the seeing the commercial on TV, proudly announcing "Yor, the Hunter from the Future!" and I would reply, "I AM?!?!"

    One of my favorite films of 2019. A deep dive into grief, as well as a cautionary tale about how to avoid being a bad boyfriend. All of the horrible stuff is committed by beautiful people, in beautiful scenery in broad daylight.

    I saw it twice in theaters, the second time in the form of The Director's Cut. I don't think the deleted scenes added anything to the experience, and I won't spoil anything but there's one scene in particular…
