Roman Kirby’s review published on Letterboxd:
Midsommar is a glorious achievement in modern horror. With it being Ari Aster’s second feature film after the equally incredible Hereditary, it’s no wonder that he is going down as one of the best modern horror directors. Aster has such a unique style and often pays a lot of attention to sound design and the way a shot is framed in his films. Midsommar is a very long film, clocking in at nearly three hours but it never drags, and even though it’s not the scariest film ever, it is very eerie and gory. The film is incredible and I think Ari Aster is one masterpiece away from becoming top ten horror directors ever.
