I believed the hype. I went in with high expectations. And guess what? Bong Joon-ho never failed. Parasite easily wins 2019 cinema so far. It's one of those films that make you think so much even on your way out of the theater. The script was well-written, the story was wonderful, and it was worth it to watch it as blind as possible. Not to mention the actors as well, god they were phenomenal. This is some really good cinematic experience and I'm thankful they even distributed it in my country (oh and they also offer student discounts).
I hope the Academy considers a foreign film again as part of the Best Picture nominees. I hope this dominates the 2020 awards season. Truly deserving of the Palme d'Or. Thank you, Bong Joon-ho.
