The energy is dynamite. That first 45 minutes or so are inFECTIOUS. Boy howdy it zips. This is probably obvious and the point, but downer side is indeed a downer, adopting pacing akin to a depressing hangover. It’s fair enough, and I appreciate the very honest and kinda mannered studying and exploring of fine lines between joy and depression, and how it’s all kind of a Möbius strip.

I loved this so much. The visual concept executed so brilliantly, and like Unedited Footage of a Bear, Alan Resnick approaches really dark, human ideas through such abstract and absurdist extremes. It might be an overstatement, but these past two shorts of his have shown David Lynch levels of artistic precision. This one especially really got to me, using everything in its clever setup to tell a story without TELLING the story. But the theme is clear and thorough (albeit…
