The stupid monkey gag at the beginning made me cringe so hard I almost shut this movie off. Thankfully the rest of the movie is pretty entertaining. And though I think Katie's conflict with her family is super contrived and one sided, it still made for an interesting story. This is essentially A Goofy Movie meets Terminator for millennials. If that sounds like your cup of tea, then you'll love it.
