    She's All That

I have one thought for each star I gave this movie.
#1 - There are so many currently famous people/familiar faces in this movie that it is incredibly distracting.
#2 - Screenwriters obviously had terrible high school experiences. I know that's a generalization, but how else can you explain all of these awful tropes that pop up. Glasses on women don't make them ugly, dance battles between the sexes don't break out at parties and (this only applies to this movie specifically) high school class presidents don't have personalized license plates advertising that fact

    Thelma & Louise

People say this all the time, but they really don't make movies like this anymore. It's a movie that follows the natural progression of events that happen to these two women (masterfully portrayed by Sarandon and Davis) and how they and the people around them react. If this were remade today, the first 20 minutes that lead up to the inciting incident would be chock full ridiculous back story, set up and ridiculous dialogue. I had a point, but I…

    The Golden Child

My sweet brother Noomsey.... This movie is criminally underrated in the Eddie Murphy "oeuvre". (I know that word doesn't apply here, but I'm just trying to sound fancy ☕)

What the hell is this movie?

  • Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

This poorly cast, written, acted, directed and doesn't make any sense. Thankfully it was retconned

"I like the way you die boy"
One of the most aesthetically pleasing movies I've ever been witness to.

  • Richard Pryor: Live in Concert

    Richard Pryor: Live in Concert

This is Michael Jordan in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals. Meaning the greatest at his all-time greatest. If you still don't get it, this is the greatest Comedian ever in the greatest comedy concert film ever.

  • Kevin Hart: Seriously Funny

    Kevin Hart: Seriously Funny

I'm not a KH fan, but there are moments in here that will have you in tears. He's a great story teller, but his Comedy is aging poorly. This is where the meme comes from though and makes it worth the watch by itself.

"Don't you know I can see you?"
Try not to think about that kid that beat him up when you watch it though

  • Babyteeth

Outstanding performances aside, I'm not really sure what I watched here.

  • Becky

This movie is nothing original or spectacular, but is 100 percent worth the watch for Lulu Wilson's performance alone. The best way to describe it is, she has actor's eyes. I hope that makes sense. So much of her performance is just in the eyes and it's incredible. Kevin James is surprisingly good in this as well and the bits of action are "fun". Fun is in quotes because they're not fun at all, but you're into the film at that point and you can feel it. Definitely watch this movie and throw on Home Alone right after just to cleanse your soul!

  • Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

    Ace Ventura: Pet Detective

Like most comedies from the era, it's a bit problematic when viewed through a 2020 lens... But it's still an all-time favorite, I know it word for word and it's probably the movie I've seen more than any other (except maybe Friday).
