  • Passengers

Not bad. Actually kept me interested throughout. Acting was good from everyone. I suppose it kinda ran out of steam but never crashed and burned.

  • Arrival

I was amped for this movie. I didn't want to build it up too much in my head.

After watching I was a bit disappointed and felt as though it had some lacking features and the ending really dragged on even though there was no more story. I really don't like it when movies do an artsy long slideshow with no dialogue forcing the conclusion slowly down your throat. I put the pieces together already you don't need to…

I thought this was a zoolander spin off... Too bad

  • 8 Mile

    8 Mile

In a time where rasicm seems to be worse than ever; we see a film that captures the tragic rasicm of blacks against whites.

We follow Rabbit, a poor white minority who is trying to find his version of the American Dream. The film is visceral and disturbing in how it portrays the double standard that is evident in the slums of Detroit. Racial slurs such as 'cracker' and 'whitey' sting the ears as we are emursed into the unequal…

  • Lights Out

    Lights Out

Creative set pieces carry this film with creative ways to use light to save the characters asses. Get a little bit too dues ex machina-y as a brief flicker of light comes at the perfect moment to save from certain death; but that helps with the tension so I'll give it a pass.

K, characters are alright, likeable but they are very stupid. VERY STUPID. Like they understand how the ghost works and operates and feeds off the darkness…

  • Guardians of the Galaxy

    Guardians of the Galaxy

I like not having any expectation for a movie and then genuinely enjoying it. That is what this movie has done for me. It liked it. Thumbs up

  • The Invitation

    The Invitation

-Style is very unique and precise
-Characters seemed real and genuine (although not very likeable)
    -Impressive filmmaking and good shots.

-builds up to a payoff that did not come as a surprise or mystery.
-characters seemed to be like goldfish that flip flop back and forth depending on the situation, eg creepy guy tells creepy story... "What the Eff is wrong with this guy?... This is creeping me out" Five seconds later they comment on the amazing…

  • The Pianist

    The Pianist

Feel good movie of the summer!

Adrian Brody embarks in a huge game of hide and seek. Does he win? Watch to find out!

I know this is awful taste but Roman Polanski is a monster and should be shot.

  • They Look Like People

    They Look Like People

I love movies that can hold suspense and keep you wondering for the whole movie. This film takes and familiar concept with a minimalist approach and boldly succeeds. Acting, Camera Angles and lighting is all it really takes and it worked.

  • The Conjuring 2

    The Conjuring 2

A decent horror film in its own right. It only suffers from living in the shadow of a far superior predicesor.

  • There Will Be Blood

    There Will Be Blood

Slow, dreary and dark. A deadly combination when used effectively. Brilliant performance by Lewis (as usual) and a feeling of dread that continues to be felt long after viewing. Well done

  • Oculus

A rare success in a genre overly saturated in haunted horror. This film managed to be tweaked in just the right way to keep the suspense and narrative. It has its faults but I was throughly impressed. Excited to see what the director has in store next
