Self-indulgent, unendearing Facebook fodder, built on arrogant entitlements; of plotless platitudes, Fleischer-Camp's previous work exploring metafilmic states - here taken to oblivious extremes, an unquirky one trick pony; counterproductively pushing '10s mockumentary tropes within a '20s postmumble framework, tainted by tasteless dementia doc dramas - though its beats hit with a live crowd, so I guess I'm the problem. Not the worst CBS/Apple ad I've seen, but a waste of decent animated talent.

The Invisible Mountain 2021
Russell's ritual travelogs rhythmically reshaped; by a sonic psychedelia, drawing ethnofictive states - through Trypps-led treks, embedding Let Each One Go Where He May (2009)'s wooded wandering within A Spell to Ward Off the Darkness (2013)'s musical morphings; sharing Rivers' hand as dp, the pair's previous feature collaboration never far from mind - sporting structural parallels, framing invisible introspections through explicit band followings; of a more whispered wistfulness, not treading much new ground.

They get together for a Sunday dinner and eat the same food…

Preparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time 2020
Like a worst case scenario sequel to Before Sunrise (1995).
