I finally did it! I finally watched The Exorcist! Wow, this has been a journey. Growing up, The Exorcist was a film that was off limits. Even my dad,who would let me watch a ton of horror movies with him that were quite fucked up and are arguably more traumatizing than The Exorcist, wouldn’t let me watch it. The Black Phone 2021
Honestly, this movie was a mix bag for me. There’s some really strong elements, but there was a lot that I didn’t care for. They really knocked it out of the park with this being a period piece. Those elements were PERFECT. Ethan Hawke’s and Madeleine McGraw’s performances alone are a reason to see this… but honestly, I don’t think the movie delivers as hard of a nail-bitting 3rd act that it thinks it does. It all feels way too…

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby 2006
The perfect movie to be consumed today. Not only is it a great Father’s Day movie, but a great movie for pride month as well. 😌

Silent Night 2021
What am I supposed to even say? This movie is incredibly difficult to talk about without spoiling it, and I do not envy whoever had to market this film because WOWZA- ummm, yeah a lot of people are going to hate this. Like, this is going to be a divisive film and that’s okay. I thought it was quite impressive. I can’t think of the last time I watched such a unique film that managed to make me laugh ( a lot) and cry (a lot). Please go into this blind (and yes, this is a huge recommendation.).

Begin Again 2013
Maybe I am petty, but I ALMOST lowered this to a 3.5 because James Corden was in this. Why was James Corden in this? I forgot he was in this. 😭 That opening scene was legit a jump scare.
