🩸🔪Horror Fanatic 🔪🩸
I finally did it! I finally watched The Exorcist! Wow, this has been a journey. Growing up, The Exorcist was a film that was off limits. Even my dad,who would let me watch a ton of horror movies with him that were quite fucked up and are arguably more traumatizing than The Exorcist, wouldn’t let me watch it. Sundance 2022 Film #18
“Am I Okay?” - Lucy
What a great way to finish this year’s Sundance! I was really excited for this one at first, but then I saw some of the first reactions. I kept seeing people calling it “simple” and “bland”, which I don’t fully disagree, but I would argue that’s the point.

Sundance 2022 Film #4
Christian Tafdrup, the director: “yeah, I don’t really like horror. This is my first time doing a horror movie. I wanted to make a movie that would make my audience completely uncomfortable and hate me”
Me: “okay, yeah right chump. Let’s watch this halfed-ass shit show.”
*watches the entire movie*
Me: “PLEASE STOP. STOPPPP. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP NOW!? IT’S ALMOST 4AM, AND I CANT STOP SHAKING. SEND HELPPPPP”
What am I supposed to even say? This movie is incredibly difficult to talk about without spoiling it, and I do not envy whoever had to market this film because WOWZA- ummm, yeah a lot of people are going to hate this. Like, this is going to be a divisive film and that’s okay. I thought it was quite impressive. I can’t think of the last time I watched such a unique film that managed to make me laugh ( a lot) and cry (a lot). Please go into this blind (and yes, this is a huge recommendation.).
