"When do we know it’s finished?"
"At some point, we stop."
The decade ends with a singular cinematic work that reminds us of what makes cinema so uniquely beautiful. Portrait of a Lady on Fire combines multiple art forms in a way we rarely get to see on screen and embraces the idea of endings unlike almost any other movie. The beautiful thing about love is that even after everything has been said and done and there still happens to be a fire burning inside of us, we have the power to keep the flame alive for years and years to come. Just like a painting we never really stop adding little details to.
