Yes this film is incredible and moving and tender but more importantly I have to tell everyone that I sat behind Paul Schrader in my screening and he arrived late and golf clapped above his head three (3) times - when Julie first got naked, when she first smoked a cigarette, and when Aksel went on an anti-feminist tirade. He stood up at the beginning and end of the credits and blew kisses at the screen for at least 2 minutes each, before putting on a floppy Indiana Jones hat an exiting the theatre. LA is a fucking fever dream.
