Jørgen’s review published on Letterboxd:
A thought came to my mind while I was watching 2001; people who say they prefer books to movies really don't know what they're missing. I know 2001 has been published as a book too, but I can't imagine it being anything close to the same experience. The music, the visuals, the minute long sequences with no sound and just spaceships floating through the air. It's all really hypnotizing.
The only reason I still don't give it a 5/5 rating is because of the last 20 minutes or so. I simply don't understand what's happening there. I mean, I've read a lot about it and all the theories people have, but there's still something that doesn't quite fit with me. 2001 is amazingly complicated, but I feel that I understand what Kubrick is trying to say throughout the whole film, except for those last 20 minutes. Hopefully, someday I will. And then it will definitely be a 5/5, but for now it's not quite there yet.
