It was good. Slow-paced, contemplative, very little story or character development, but a lovely (I think, from a woman's perspective) portrayal of male friendship and vulnerability. It gets uncomfortable at times, as this somewhat pushy and awkward (though tender) Evangelical tries to draw his friend towards salvation. A fine performance by Colm O'Leary who plays Sean, the Irish immigrant vet who struggles with anxiety and loneliness. It was made by a non-Christian who is fairly respectful of the Christian subculture portrayed, though it was a part of the Christian subculture that makes *me* a bit squirmy to see it portrayed so naturally on film. Sean seems to put up with the pushy evangelistic efforts of Ike (Will Oldham) surprisingly more than I would have expected, but in the end remains unconvinced.
