Cara Delevingne is a natural in front of the camera (as evidenced by countless of videos on YouTube), but make her talk in an American accent and she loses every last bit of her talent. Because of that, the audience never gets to see the same enigmatic and mysterious Margo that Quentin sees, and the film suffers as a direct result.
What we get instead is still a fine movie, however, that has a lot going for it: likeable characters, cinematography (that screams “indie” and “hipster”, but in a good way), music (both the songs and the original score), the overal tone, and a story that progresses into a pretty fun roadmovie/adventure – something that i hadn’t quite expected.
