  • Die Hard

    Die Hard

    Absolute perfection.

Perfectly paced action spectacle. Cheesy in all the right ways. Like able characters and story. One of my new favorites.

  • Frozen II

    Frozen II

Enjoyed much more than the first. I just think that this film is a more atmospheric, more tonally consistent, and generally more entertaining version of the first. I actually cared about the characters in this one so that’s pretty cool. Also beautiful animation helps the viewing experience.

  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Enjoyable end to this very flawed trilogy. It’s just too bad that Rey is an awful, annoying protagonist otherwise I would have enjoyed all three films more. Take a shot every time Finn has to stop her from doing something stupid, you’ll be dead by the end of the film. Adam Driver as Kylo Ren is still the best part of the trilogy.

  • Cats

Well yeah...This is an unpopular opinion

Cats is a weird for me, because I genuinely think that this movie is so much better then the criticism of it would imply. This movie is very entertaining throughout, although I will admit that a lot of the enjoyment is ironic because these CGI cats do look hilariously bad. But the entire movie is just song and dance numbers and the music in Cats is genuinely great. Most of these tunes are still…

  • Miracle on 34th Street

    Miracle on 34th Street

    Yeah...not really my thing.

As much as I can appreciate this as a holiday classic and a tradition for many families, I simply don’t think a Santa Claus court movie is that interesting or even exciting concept. It falls back on many cliches of older movies in particular that annoy me. The side plot of determining wether Santa is insane or not is dated and tedious. The acting is terrific! That’s what keeps it watchable even in its most ridiculous moments. But I’m still glad I watched it. It was genuinely entertaining, although VERY flawed.

  • The Snowman

    The Snowman

Beautiful and powerful. Beats Frosty The Snowman any day.

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas

    How the Grinch Stole Christmas

I would rather eat shards of glass than sit through this movie again

  • Chappie

Chappie is a movie that could have been really good with just a little more time with the script and a little more care taken during the shoot and edit. As it stands though, Chappie is a poorly acted, poorly written mess of a film.  There is dialogue and scenarios that happen in this film that are laughable. Particularly dialogue given to Hugh Jackman, as they have him playing up an Australian stereotype. The acting is atrocious, for some reason…

  • Home Alone

    Home Alone

There is not a movie in world that is more perfectly paced as Home Alone. The entire film is a perfect exercise in building and releasing tension. The church scene right before the trap sequence and is genius. The performances from Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Candy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Ratray. Everyone. It’s genius. The script is genius, it’s funny and incredibly just fucking like able. I love this film, I watch it every Christmas, there is nothing…

  • The Night Before

    The Night Before

    Surprisingly good

  • It's a Wonderful Life

    It's a Wonderful Life

Yes, today I watched It’s a Wonderful Life for the very first time, I know, I know it’s insane. So....I loved this movie, like, I think it’s one of my new favorite films. There is no film that captures the meaning of Christmas more then this movie. The entire film from beginning to end just really struck a cord with me. James Stewart gives one of the best performances ever, his character is someone you really, really care about, his…

  • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

    Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

Poorly shot. Poorly acted. Fucking atrocious dialogue. Uninteresting story. Over use of CGI. Unintentionally hilarious moments. Incredibly dark and blurry action sequences that are hard to follow. Stale and contradictory character motivations. Poorly paced. No originality. But most of all, just plain boring. Avoid.
