  • Frozen II

    Frozen II

Enjoyed much more than the first. I just think that this film is a more atmospheric, more tonally consistent, and generally more entertaining version of the first. I actually cared about the characters in this one so that’s pretty cool. Also beautiful animation helps the viewing experience.

  • Cats

Well yeah...This is an unpopular opinion

Cats is a weird for me, because I genuinely think that this movie is so much better then the criticism of it would imply. This movie is very entertaining throughout, although I will admit that a lot of the enjoyment is ironic because these CGI cats do look hilariously bad. But the entire movie is just song and dance numbers and the music in Cats is genuinely great. Most of these tunes are still…

  • Miracle on 34th Street

    Miracle on 34th Street

    Yeah...not really my thing.

As much as I can appreciate this as a holiday classic and a tradition for many families, I simply don’t think a Santa Claus court movie is that interesting or even exciting concept. It falls back on many cliches of older movies in particular that annoy me. The side plot of determining wether Santa is insane or not is dated and tedious. The acting is terrific! That’s what keeps it watchable even in its most ridiculous moments. But I’m still glad I watched it. It was genuinely entertaining, although VERY flawed.

  • Dinner for Schmucks

    Dinner for Schmucks

Fuck it. I like this movie I don’t even care.

Octavia Spencers performance though is genuinely the worst thing ever.

  • Cinderella

  • Brüno

Hmm. I’m kind of conflicted over this one. It’s definitely no Borat, not even close, but I do still respect the hell out of it. Here the thing though, when Bruno works it REALLY works, but when it doesn’t it REALLY does not. I was honestly simultaneously bored and uncomfortable till the talk show scene, that’s when the movie starts to really pick up the pace. But before that it’s just completely awkward. With even more risqué jokes then Borat…

  • Where'd You Go, Bernadette

  • Rushmore

Well this will be controversial. I don't think Rushmore is a very good film, However, it is saved by the immense talent both in front of and behind the camera. Wes Anderson does an amazing job directed this, however it should be noted that this was made before Wes Anderson really figured out his style, meaning it is not nearly as visually interesting or exciting as his later works, however I think the main problem with the film is the…

  • Death Proof

    Death Proof

You know it’s a problem when the douchy serial killer is the most likeable character....

Really enjoyed the first half, kind of hated the second half...Tarantino’s style and this kind of cinema don’t really mesh well. The characters suck (except for Stuntman Mike). The music is awesome. The cinematography is awesome. The editing is awesome. The dialogue sucks (that’s right a TARANTINO script sucks). In the first act the story is pretty intriguing, but the second half is so bad that it just balances out. Definitely Tarantino’s weakest (that I’ve seen) but far from a complete trainwreck. It just kind of a mixed bag.

  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

I would have loved this movie if I wasn't so annoyed the whole time. Willie is legitimately one of the worst characters ever put to film. She ruined this movie. You compare her to Marion and you can't help but think, why? There is no reason she had to be written like this. Short round sucks too!!! Why did the make all the characters as irritating as possible? I thought about giving this a higher score but it is really…

  • First Man

    First Man

First man is a perfectly acceptable biography movie...which means it blends together with all the other perfectly acceptable biography movies (Apollo 13, The Post, The Imitation Game, etc) These are films that, despite being about very different things feel exactly the same to me. This isn't necessarily a BIG deal, I mean all these films are enjoyable watches, and its important they stay true to the facts and the real people, but sometimes it can be annoying to an audience…

  • Super Size Me

    Super Size Me

While the information here is very important and well presented, on a technical level this documentary is pretty bad. Things like cameras being out of focus and god awful audio. A lot of time is wasted as we talk about things like ice cream and how big of a role model Jared (the paedophile) from Subway is. If this movie stuck to more of a concrete idea it could really be something special. As it stands this is a just…
