  • Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town

Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town

    ★★★★½

Definitely the weakest Rankin/Bass Christmas special. This one in particular is very easy to make fun of, the dialogue and performances are hilariously bad at points - like at one point the narrator is talking about how Kris is growing up and becoming a man and then Kris just turns to the camera and says in the most cheesy deep voice “I’m a man now”  The music is not very memorable, there is one song with very heavy pedophilic implications…

  • Arsenic and Old Lace

    Arsenic and Old Lace

    ★★★★½

Ok, so I live in a very small town. Not a lot to do here, besides going to school, maybe out to get ice cream. We have a pizza restaurant with a small arcade in it. But that’s about it. We do however have an actual movie theater in our town, and every weekend they show a brand new release for only 5 dollars. In fact, I was able to rewatch Joker last week with all my friends for 5…

  • The Hug

    The Hug

    ★★★★½

Worth 5 stars for the animatronic puppet work alone, however much likes There’s a Man in the Woods a cheesy editing choice at the end is causing me to knock it half a star.

  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

    ★★★★½

    Fuck Umbridge

  • Jojo Rabbit

    Jojo Rabbit

    ★★★★½

The perfect blend of childlike whimsy and heavy drama. Both hilarious and depressing, Jojo Rabbit is one of the best and most colorful films of the year. I’m currently debating whether I like it more then Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, while that one is probably the better film, I feel as though this one will have the bigger impact on me.

  • Monster House

    Monster House

    ★★★★½

This film terrified me as a little kid, I was scared that it was gonna age now that I am older...but no. It’s still great

  • Abominable

    Abominable

    ★★★★½

I feel like it is easy to forget how much greatness Dreamworks is capable of, this is DEFINITELY due to the Pixar domination and some poor desicion making in their past (cough cough Bee Movie cough cough Boss Baby cough cough Turbo) but when Dreamworks makes a good movie, they make a REALLY GOOD movie, and this is really one of them.

Abominable is a beautiful, simple, fantastic movie. The story is simple enough for children to understand and enjoy,…

  • Mad Max: Fury Road

    Mad Max: Fury Road

    ★★★★½

    Awesome

  • Jacob's Ladder

    Jacob's Ladder

    ★★★★½

While incredibly flawed, Jacobs Ladder is a really effective psychological, horror drama. This movie actually really freaked me out. Amazing practical effects, a tight script and emotional performances all come together to make a truly sad, disturbing film.

My main issue comes with the TERRIBLE score and dated editing. Also the first 20 or so minutes is pretty bad. But, it quickly picks up the pace and descends into absolute madness. This is a film that I can safely say…

  • Black Mirror: Metalhead

    Black Mirror: Metalhead

    ★★★★½

    Insanely underrated episode

  • Black Mirror: Playtest

    Black Mirror: Playtest

    ★★★★½

    Complete mindfuck

  • 50/50

    50/50

    ★★★★½

You won’t believe how close I was to giving this 5 stars. If it wasn’t for an odd character decision near the end of the film, I would have. 50/50 isn’t just a great comedy it’s a beautiful unpacking on how this individual handles grief. Joespeh Gorden Levett is insanely good in this film. He feels like a real person, and thus, his emotions feel so real. He has great chemistry with the equally great Seth Rogan, their friendship was…
