  • Die Hard

    Die Hard

    Absolute perfection.

Perfectly paced action spectacle. Cheesy in all the right ways. Like able characters and story. One of my new favorites.

  • The Snowman

    The Snowman

Beautiful and powerful. Beats Frosty The Snowman any day.

  • Home Alone

    Home Alone

There is not a movie in world that is more perfectly paced as Home Alone. The entire film is a perfect exercise in building and releasing tension. The church scene right before the trap sequence and is genius. The performances from Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Candy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Ratray. Everyone. It’s genius. The script is genius, it’s funny and incredibly just fucking like able. I love this film, I watch it every Christmas, there is nothing…

  • It's a Wonderful Life

    It's a Wonderful Life

Yes, today I watched It’s a Wonderful Life for the very first time, I know, I know it’s insane. So....I loved this movie, like, I think it’s one of my new favorite films. There is no film that captures the meaning of Christmas more then this movie. The entire film from beginning to end just really struck a cord with me. James Stewart gives one of the best performances ever, his character is someone you really, really care about, his…

  • Planes, Trains and Automobiles

    Planes, Trains and Automobiles

The best buddy road trip movie. Really the only amazing thanksgiving film. An important tradition for me.

If you’re looking for a film to make you laugh hysterically and cry in the span of ninety minutes look no further. Steve Martin and John Candy are on their A game, they have phenomenal chemistry and great comedic timing. The cinematography is amazing. The attention to detail is fantastic. The pacing is lightning fast. In all honesty I really don’t have any…

  • Up

In my review of “Her” I commented about how there are very few films that actually deserve the title of masterpiece, despite how much we, as a community, throw around that term. Well I think Up is another example of a film that is a masterpiece. I say this because I don’t think that there is another film that balances so many opposing tones as perfectly as Up does, this is key because it makes every scene feel purposeful and…

  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

While not as technically tight as some of the other entries, Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire has always been my favorite film in the franchise. I think it is the best acted one, the most tonally consistent one, and has the most interesting plot. I think it’s a masterpiece, it cements the Harry Potter series as one of the best franchises of all time if the other three hadn’t done that already.

  • Michael Jackson's Thriller

    Michael Jackson's Thriller

Best music video ever. No contest.

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas

    The Nightmare Before Christmas

The perfect blending and celebration off two very distinct and different holidays. The effort and creativity behind this film is extremely commendable. This is becoming a Halloween tradition for me, as well as one of my all time favorite animated films. The rich atmosphere this film gives off is one that I could get lost in for hours. It’s brilliant.

  • The Lighthouse

    The Lighthouse

    Fucking brilliant
