Jumanji: The Next Level

Jumanji: The Next Level ★★★★

[points at the GENUINELY EMOTIONAL scene between Awkwafina as Danny DeVito and a HORSE as Danny Glover at the climax of a kid-friendly tentpole CGI-spectacle blockbuster that's a sequel to the billion-dollar soft-reboot of a minor 90's IP] See, that's cinema, right there.

Just extremely fun from start to finish, even more so than the first one, despite going overboard with the effects and taking a little too long on the third act. Particularly liked the way they justified the game being turned on again, because that's basically the only element of suspension of disbelief the movie has to worry about, but they go "you see, there's this depressed college student who-" and I already bought it.
