The Salesman

The Salesman ★★★★

Extraordinarily gripping, which might not be a quality immediately associated with Iranian cinema, therefore having a great potential of serving as a fantastic introduction for a lot of people, but the movie is shorthanded of greatness since Farhadi gets a little carried away with the thriller element that's still incredibly efficient, however he happens to sideline a pivotal character in the process. I'm not particularly well-versed in Arthur Miller's 'Death of a Salesman' to start unpacking its thematic likenesses, but at an initial lay examination, they don't appear to be that sophisticated.
