V/H/S at least deserves points for standing out after all these years. It definitely has a niche value. But if you're in the mood for it the V/H/S series and the ABC's of death can be a lot of fun.

If I were a betting man, I'd say Niel Blomkamp has a very specific type of story he enjoys telling. The actual storytelling is weak, relying on cheesy narration and split narratives that never really pay off and just start to drag more than anything. That being said, it's very easy to see how much work was put into creating this world. The visuals are just as sunning as any of Blomkamps other movies. The characters are well fleshed out-- they just aren't very interesting. If you're looking for a short District 9'y alien invasion survival short, then here you go.

Please go see this movie, support it, and cherish the fact that a film like this was even created in this day in age.

It was hard to pay attention over the sound of Matt jacking off to how much he loved it.
