Robin Solsjö Höglund’s review published on Letterboxd:
(To a musician) "So, what do you play?"
"Um... Zelda, Tetris, Metroid... It's kind of a big question..."
"WE ARE THE SEX BOB-OMBS AND WE'RE HERE TO WATCH SCOTT PILGRIM KICK YOUR TEETH IN!"
I'm still so damn hard in lesbians with this movie. It's just an extremely funny, wicked, fast paced, witty, action packed, smart, cool, interesting, well filmed, hip, retro, entertaining, stylish, comic book movie adaptation. I love epic movies, and none are more epic than Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.
But the music sucks ass. I hate that stupid indie rock shit (that's why I dropped half a star). The Clash At Demonhead are actually kind of good though. Kind of. The movie should've just used the awesome video game's awesome soundtrack made of awesome. It's awesome. Seriously, buy it. I had to kick someone's butt to get the coins to pay for it.
If you have ever played a video game in your life, ever, you need to watch this movie and Wreck It-Ralph. Shit, make it a double feature, it'll be the best movie night of your life. If it isn't, you suck, and you should get back to watching Croatian dramas about the sadness of birds or some shit. THIS MOVIE ROCKS! THE VIDEO GAME ROCKS! I'M SURE THE COMIC BOOK ROCKS BUT I HAVEN'T READ IT (YET)! That is all.
Oh, and count the numbers if you can. I did it tonight, it's kind of funny how much they go for it (at least at the start). Scott's 0 (Coke Zero, a zero shirt, touches a zero on the fridge, says he's "nothing", "nega", and so on). Matthew is 1, he's "that one guy", and on and on it goes..
