    Rage, or rather RAGE!
Damn, this is was non stop, balls-walls-metal-pedal jacked up 90s DTV action madness, of the HIGHEST QUALITY.

Gary Daniels is ridiculously capable for a *checks notes* kindergarten teacher? The story is nuts, there is a kidnapping, super-soldier serum, framing, clearing name kind of thing going on, but all that matters is the wonderful parade of EXCELLENT action sequences and fights that somehow look like A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY was spent on them, but as this is PM entertainment it really wasn't.

Kudos. I'm fully onboard the PM Entertainment research project now if it unearths gems like these!

Who would have thought that a Tsui Hark produced Ringo Lam movie would work out this well?

Up there with the best of both of them, incessant madness and mastery of the form. Works as a brutal, gritty period piece, as a nutso Wuxia, as a fun spectacle, as a remix of tired tropes into something new.

Everything is great in this. Action, story, fighting, production design, set pieces, acting, photography ...

Mentalist filmmaking in all the good HK ways,…

Wow this one packed serious punch. I expected edgy action with equal parts cheese and stunt work, but in fact got something much stronger than that. It's hard to explain, but this film has its own identity. Hyper-real visuals with neon intensity, incredibly dynamic camera work, stylised yet impactful badassery and whiplash editing.

If Hollywood action flicks managed only half of the excitement this film generates on a humble budget, it would do much better business.

    - Thanks to 88 films terrific work I could finally watch this as part of their wonderful trilogy box set, nicely restored and remastered. -

I'll just list my reviews of all three films for every letterboxd entry:

    Tiger Cage I 4.5 stars
Excellent EXCELLENT grimy, hard hitting crime actioner, with a very young Donnie Yen as part of an overall superb cast. Lots of gun fights, chases, neon nights and gnarly stunts and violence. Superbly directed by Yuen Woo-Ping.…
