Another project by Andrew Ahn. Just like Driveways, There isn't much turmoil or conflict. More so his style is showing off a slice of life. The slice being an awkward detachment from your family at your nephew's traditional first Korean birthday. I don't quite think it was meant to punch you in the gut rather just to make you look inside the window of the life of a gay asian American man. In that way I don't see it as underwhelming but comparable to casually observing a piece of art at a museum.
