Russell Hainline’s review published on Letterboxd :
Sometimes at a karaoke night, a person gets up and you see they are singing Whitney Houston. There's that twinge of excitement-- can this person pull it off? Can this person actually sing like Whitney Houston? They invariably can't, but you can tell they *think* they can sing like Whitney Houston, which makes the whole affair slightly off-putting. They're not telling the story of the song, embodying a real person with real emotions-- they're just worried about trying to hit the notes.
I, Tonya is too worried about hitting the notes.
