  • Through My Window

    Through My Window 2022

    Jimena

    ½ Watched by Jimena 06 Feb 2022

Not really sure why, but it seemed like a good time to watch this movie.

I wrote more about this underrated film here.

The fact that I was already trying to make every man I touch look like Billy Crudup before seeing this is waaaaaay worrying…

"What's human or inhuman isn't up for human decision."

Wildly uneven bonkers melodrama that veers between campy outrageousness and stark philosophizing monologues. Surprised at how passive-aggressive Burton's role is here, as opposed to the more drunken-aggressive roles he played in the likes of WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?. Worth the ticket price alone to just watch Noel Coward being carried on a guy's shoulders.

I lost count of how many times Liz angrily throws something into the ocean.

“I can’t take the beach today. You got more things going for you than your teeth, baby”

Genuinely unbelievably perfect. Joseph losey was really churning out masterpiece after masterpiece in the 60s and so many seem to have been misunderstood at the time (or still are!) but don’t worry king I understand you!!!!!!!!
