Ryan Laux’s review published on Letterboxd:
Everything works in this film for me. The overall style and feel, the gorgeous cinematography, Albert Brooks’ villainous performance along with the rest of the excellent ensemble lead by a great Ryan Gosling. If this wasn’t in Nicolas Winding Refn’s hands it could’ve been more mainstream and lost its arty edge. The use of music is just perfect in every scene, especially when a synthy pop song leads into some extreme violence. This is one of my all time favorites for sure.
