Albeit in a far less charming manner, I have lived a version of this film. Almost three months ago, I finally escaped my small town to go to college in New York City. It's all I've ever wanted. And yes, it's incredible, but at the same time, I have never felt more alone. Only when you're away from that security of the only life you've known can you realize how much it means; how much you can miss the looks, the touches, and even the berating comments. Because they are familiar, because they are home. Home, both the good and bad, is an incredibly powerful force. No matter how far away I run, it will always exist within me.

Greta Gerwig has a way of making every film feel as though it were specifically made for you. Though it hits a bit too close to home at the moment, I could watch this movie every day for the rest of my life. Lady Bird is magic and I am ready to fly.
