"I need a vacation."
After having a very upsetting day , in which I had to say goodbye to a great friend of mine, I thought my favourite film of all time could cheer me up a bit.
And it did.
This is one of the best action movies ever made, one of the best sci-fi movies ever made, one of the best sequels ever made and really just one of the best movies ever made period.
Almost everything in it is top-notch. I'm willing to overlook a few flaws in the writing and casting department because of my overwhelming love for the film and the fact that everything else is fucking superb.
The special effects are still awesome and hold up really well 25 years on, but the reason for this film's sheer ass-kicking magnificence and staggering entertainment value lies in James Cameron's imagination and skill as a filmmaker.
Bravo, Jim. Now stop making Avatar sequels and make real movies again.
