I'm generally a fan of Patton Oswalt, and No Reason to Complain certainly epitomizes the snarky witticism of his comedy. But the appeal here is also its downfall: lots of topical subject matter. Keep in mind, also, that this was produced in '04 and I didn't view it until sometime earlier this year, 2012. While I can't really fault Oswalt for my inability to keep up with him, I do think it says something about a performer who so quickly becomes irrelevant. I chuckled, I mused, but I probably won't return to this comedy special anytime soon; it's already out-of-date.
