Not many people enjoy being dropped into a film - they want someone to hold their hand and lead them into the story, explaining as they go for easy understanding.
They do not do that here, and it works. You get sucked in, trying to figure out what is happening to these two lovely protagonists. Living one life is hard enough, living two? I do not envy their position, no matter how lovely they depicted their story to us.
The animation was beautiful. Transitions and effects were applied but felt seamless among the rest of the artwork. Music and sound effects were standard fare for the story it was telling. I liked the nod to the red string of fate, and how many of the side characters were just as involved in the film and its outcome as the leads. Overall, it did not wow me, but it was engrossing and satisfying start to finish.
Kudos to the director and studio - I hope you have luck with your future projects.
