I may be a tad biased based on my adoration for the novel, but I was truly stunned by the lead performance. I fear the movie may lack in some of the pining romance the author originally gave us. The cinematography and setting was beautiful, but I desired more dialogue between the characters. The novel was vague in areas as well but had the support of descriptive narrative. All in all, it was a beautiful and complex LGBT film that brings much discussion. I had a similar relationship when I was the age of the character and I was able to relate in many ways. To finish, I will say that the movie carried the best dialogue from the novel within it.
