  • Stargirl

Man that Band needs way more practice.
I had only really ever skimmed reading "Stargirl" then I actually had to read the sequel "Love Stargirl" for school and it was an okay book. I was surprised to see that Disney was adapting the "Stargirl" book as I don't really see "Stargirl" as something that has stayed in the eye of the public.

    Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made

Seriously who chooses "Failure" as there last name?
I was very surprised to see that Tom McCarthy actually directed this movie. Coming off of winning the Oscar for Best Picture with "Spotlight" to having a movie based on a series of books for young readers as McCarthy's next project was not something I was expecting.

What John Hughes did here was deconstruct the clique's of high school and show that being in a different clique doesn't make you any better or different from someone else in a different clique and it doesn't mean their problems aren't any different either. and he also showed that adults need to reevaluate how they view kids at times as well. All five of the actors who played the kids were excellent, particularly Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald.

    Hacksaw Ridge

Boy does Mel Gibson know how to make action gut wrenching.
Not only is "Hacksaw Ridge" a tribute to Desmond Doss and what he accomplished but another reminder at the horrors of war.

Andrew Garfield delivers a powerhouse performance and I think we will be seeing him come Oscar time. Teresa Palmer and Hugo Weaving are great as Desmond's wife and father and Desmond's fellow soldiers all give great performances especially Vince Vaughn who shows us true dramatic chops and…
