    Out of Blue

Advanced screening at the Watershed with a Q&A with Carol Morley afterwards. I think Out of Blue is great, but I'm not sure. I definitely didn't get everything out of it that I could have, so it's definitely in need of a second viewing, and probably many more. The one thing I'm sure of is that Carol Morley is such an interesting creative voice in film today, and with this and The Falling, I'll watch anything she does.

YWNRH has gone up in my estimation since the previous watch at FilmBath, I think. At 90 minutes, it hits a huge range of emotional marks, back story, and set pieces - the CCTV montage is utterly chilling. Lynne Ramsey has to be one of the best directors working today, and Tree Strings is one of Jonny Greenwood's best pieces. Top work.

Kingsman is much like the original, only moreso. It is full of the same fetishised hyper-laddishness, still has the tendency to confuse…
