  • Parasite

It is hellishly difficult to analyze Parasite.
Perhaps the best description of the movie is, that director Bong Joon-ho is a true Korean version of Quentin Tarantino.

The movie is beyond all genres. It has comedy, tragedy, satire and even horror. The movie changes many times during its duration. It first wants to show the viewer that the story is humorous and funny. Then, suddenly, the story turns fully upside down and hits the viewer directly to the face. This…

    Ford v Ferrari

Ford v Ferrari is perhaps the best movie I have seen this year. It´s full of speed, excitement, quality production, and excellent roles. The combination of Matt Damon and Christian Bale is excellent and especially Bale’s performance is dazzling. The movie received an Oscar for its sound effects, which´s no wonder. Even my own home couch began to vibrate when the Ferraris and Fords started their engines. Sound is The Thing in the movie.

You don’t have to love racing, cars, or technology to like this movie. Ford v Ferrari is just a great movie you have to jump aboard.

    Men in Black: International

Shame on you Chris Hemsworth, Liam Neeson & Tessa Thompson. You should never have agreed to participate in this so-called movie.
The blush of your cheeks will be visible and audible for a long time to come.

    The Invisible Man

I really liked The Invisible Man.
In a rare way the movie succeeds in transforming the original movie into a new and fresh, genuinely working re-make. This is not easy, as we have seen too many times.

The quality of the production and the actress Elisabeth Moss make the movie excellent, but especially the movie succeeds in a great way to create an atmosphere where the invisible becomes disturbingly visible to the viewer. In many scenes you nervously wait something…

    The Call of the Wild

Unfortunately The Call of the Wild left me cold. This was not because of the Alaskan scenery or the cinema's air conditioning, but the poverty of the content.

Jack London's book is a classic and a movie made for it should have been much better. Sure the story was sympathetic and the scenery stunning and who wouldn't love an aging Harrison Ford or a clumsy but wise Buck the dog, which, though, was entirely computer generated. However, it wasn't enough. The effect was too weak.

That´s pity. I was expecting more.
