Dr. No ★★½

I'm willing to ignore the sex- and racism by pulling the "Those were different times" card, but even for me, who has usually no trouble with the slower pace of old movies, this was a bit too slow and boring. There are some nice touches, like the "blind" assassins or the otherworldly production design in Dr No's layer, but the movie doesn't get interesting until the "dragon" shows up. From this point on, it fully commits to being a fantastic and (for its time) innovative mix of spy movie with SciFi/Fantasy pulp touch.
