Face/Off ★★★

This time I appreciated it more than 20 years ago, but it still doesn't fully work for me.

That Woo plays the completely ridiculous concept of surgical body swaps and SciFi prisons not just completely straight faced, but like an epic drama of Shakespearean extent, while almost everybody in front of the camera seems to think that they are in a comedy, works surprisingly well. It should be a huge trainwreck, but somehow it isn't.

It's just that the movie drags too much between the interesting parts and the idea of a villain pretending to be a good guy, father and husband, rarely delivers in the suspense department.
